As digital deliberation becomes more prevalent, this project works to study what good online facilitation looks like, helping train people and AI to support collective decision-making. We are studying facilitation techniques in synchronous and asynchronous deliberative groups, focusing on discussion productivity and representativeness of the full range of perspectives.
